This is a Pendant made with a thin etched slice of a stunning Chinese Iron meteorite called Aletai
The meteorite slice has been etched which brings out the Widmanstatten pattern
This is a crystalline pattern which iron meteorites form as they cool VERY slowly while flying across space
Terrestrial iron does not form this patterning and shows that this comes from a meteorite
The slice has been set into a stainless steel dog tag setting and has also been set with a layer of resin across the front of the meteorite slice
The resin coating PLUS being stainless steel not the usual silver means that this pendant will be fine to get wet occasionally
NB - the chain supplied is solid sterling silver so WILL tarnish and is best kept dry
But the occasional shower will be fine as long as everything is dried properly
The pendant itself measures 4cm from top to bottom including the bail, and is 2cm wide
The necklace you will receive won't be this exact one, but pretty much identical -
( you can see from the additional images representative pendants and they all look very similar)
