Wear a genuine piece of Britain's prehistoric past with this charming handmade Belemnite fossil necklace.
Many fossil hunters have discovered Belemnites along the beaches of southern England, often making them one of the very first fossils they ever find. However, this necklace features a much rarer species – Neohibolites minimus – a beautifully slender Belemnite that is far less commonly encountered.
These fossils were collected from the beaches of Kent, England, by a respected British fossil collector who specialises in sourcing unusual and exceptional specimens.
Every Belemnite is naturally unique, so I individually handcraft a solid sterling silver setting for each one. Rather than using a standard fitting, every pendant is made from scratch to complement the exact shape of its fossil, ensuring that no two necklaces are ever identical.
Each pendant measures approximately 3cm from top to bottom, including the bail, and is supplied on an 18-inch sterling silver curb chain, ready to wear or give as a unique gift.
Belemnites were squid-like marine animals that lived in the ancient seas over 100 million years ago. Their beautifully preserved internal skeletons have survived as fossils, creating elegant natural forms that make perfect wearable pieces of Earth's history.
The necklace you receive will be one of the pendants shown. As every fossil formed naturally, each has its own subtle differences in shape, colour and texture, making your necklace completely unique.
