GENUINE TATAHOUINE DIOGENITE METEORITE – BEAUTIFULLY FRAMED
Own a genuine piece of another world!
This fascinating little meteorite is one of the most unusual and scientifically interesting meteorites you are ever likely to encounter.
Unlike most meteorites, which are dark grey or black, Tatahouine has a remarkable greenish colour and a fascinating history.
AN ANCIENT VISITOR FROM ASTEROID VESTA
The Tatahouine meteorite fell to Earth on 27 June 1931 near the town of Tatahouine in Tunisia.
It is classified as a diogenite, a rare type of achondrite meteorite believed to originate from deep within the crust of the enormous asteroid Vesta.
The rock itself formed over 4.5 billion years ago, making it one of the oldest objects you could ever own!
The meteorite shattered into numerous small fragments during its passage through Earth's atmosphere, and most surviving pieces are quite tiny.
