A superb Libyan Desert Glass pendant, made using a genuine piece of this rare natural glass, carefully drilled and suspended on a sterling silver chain.
Libyan Desert Glass is a remarkable natural material formed by the immense forces of a meteorite impact around 26 million years ago. It is found across remote areas of Libya and Egypt and remains one of the most intriguing forms of natural impact glass.
Each piece has a beautiful golden colour and natural translucence, with a smooth surface texture created over thousands of years by wind-driven desert sands. Higher quality examples display a clarity and brightness that set them apart from more common, duller material.
The pendant you receive will be very similar to that shown, with the Libyan Desert Glass measuring approximately 3–4 cm top to bottom, and is supplied on a 20 inch sterling silver snake chain.
